Peaceful Gardens Montessori in Albany, Oregon
Here at Peaceful Gardens Montessori Kindergarten & Preschool in Albany, Oregon, we strive to live by the Montessori method. This method and philosophy of teaching was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. By getting to know each student and spending ample time observing them, in both social and educational settings, we are able to hone in on each student’s individual learning style and needs. We work with the whole child, this means we find learning moments in all life’s interactions. We help guide your child toward independence by giving them tools and lessons in every area; putting on a coat, buttoning their pants, solving a disagreement, being a peaceful member of our community, all the way through reading, writing and mathematics. Though most importantly, we want to create a safe place for your child to play, socialize, grow, create and learn to love learning. A child’s work is play, and with the right training, practice, and encouragement, being in love with learning will be the byproduct!
Your Guides
Hello, my name is Katiemarie Zambrano or Ms. Katie works too! I have been working with students for over 15 years. I’ve worked as a full time nanny, kids birthday party organizer at a magical toy store, camp counselor, kids yoga instructor, and finally, the last 10 years as a trained Montessori guide. Let’s just say, kids are my best friends! It has been a dream of mine to own and operate a preschool that combines a unique and specialized learning style with a homey, safe and comfortable environment. With a combined 20 years experience in Montessori classrooms, my co-guides and I hope to create a special space that makes learning to love learning a joy for all students!
Our School
We have two classroom spaces broken into two age groups: 1 year - 3 years and 3 years - 6 years. Everything in our school is intentional, useful, beautiful and child sized. The classroom is intended to be an extension of the home, where the children can practice all of life’s lessons. Having a space with furniture that is their size creates a feeling of ownership over the space, a special feeling that it is just for them. This really helps establish a level of comfort for your child’s first schooling experience. For these reasons we chose a neighborhood home as our first location. This is really special for us because we love to have a smaller, tight knit ”first school” community.
